Description This course is an introduction to the critical thinking skills and problem solving strategies required for success on MATHCOUNTS and the AMC 8 tests. This class is intended for students with some experience who are in the early or middle stage of middle school math contests (in particular, students who score 15+ on the AMC 8 or 20+ on Chapter-level MATHCOUNTS competitions).
Preliminary Requirement Students should have a solid understanding of AOPS pre-algebra class. Students who have started or finished AOPS Algebra book is preferred. Recommend for students from 6th grade to 8th grade.

Instructor: Ying Qin is the current teacher of the CCS Math Olympiad Algebra class. She is experienced in all middle school math contests including AMC8, Mathcounts, and NC State Math Contest.
