亲爱的朋友们:
在2024-25新学年即将开始之际,我谨代表学校董事会、全体教师和义工团队衷心感谢您一直以来的关心和支持!
学校
凯瑞中文学校是北卡三角地区的一所以传授中文为主的非盈利教育机构。自2001年成立以来,学校始终致力于中文教育,弘扬中华文化,丰富社区多元化。
学生
今年我校注册学生有五百名,共参与30门传承汉语课(包括马立平和暨南大学中文),11门汉语为第二语言课,3门AP中文课,和48门活动课。
老师
师资是中文学校的基石。在今年的教师队伍中,中文老师有39名,才艺活动课老师共35名。他们有的是大学教授,有的是高中学生,有的是公校老师,有的是企业高管,构建了三套完整的中文教学体系以及多式多样的才艺活动课程。
义工
学校的管理团队是一支全部由义工组成的30人左右的队伍,他们团结合作,任劳任怨,为学校的日常运行奉献着宝贵的时间和精力。学校的成功也离不开其他无数热心义工的支持。希望通过大家的共同努力,让凯瑞中文学校这个平台继续为社区带来多元化的文化服务。

多年来,学校一直受到来自SAS和CISCO等几大公司为员工设立的义务劳动的匹配捐助。同时也接收到商家们的慷慨支持。以下是在过去一年为学校提供赞助的商家,他们是:。
课程
针对网络教学,学校在暑假期间对现有的课程设置进行了调整。除了保证周六上午有充足的课程资源外,全新推出了周日下午的数学训练营,同时也在周一至周五的时间段增加了一些热门的才艺课程,以此满足广大学生和家长的需求。

2024-25学年秋季共15 周,春季16周,夏季9周。具体校历,请参见www.carycs.org/calendar.html。
网课纪律
学校要求学生在课堂上必须做到:1)上课不迟到,提前准备好上课需要的书和文具;2)有问题,要先举手;3)懂得相互尊重,不说与上课无关的东西;4)若违反课堂纪律,老师应及时指出,严重者通报学校及家长。考虑到网络教学的特殊性,学生还需要做到:1)选择一个安静的房间上课;2)使用实名,便于点名、提问、交流和互动;3)打开摄像头,关闭语音功能,在老师允许之后才打开。
网络安全
无论是在教室还是虚拟网络,凯瑞中文学校要求学生的行为规范是一致的。严禁任何语言暴力、辱骂同学、干扰课堂秩序等所有不文明行为。发现问题,需要老师及时制止。若再次发生,必须通知学生家长,并告知校方。校方会最后根据校规给予相应的处理和惩戒。

《每周新闻》和微信是学校向大家发布重要信息和与大家交流沟通的主要途径。在学校网站(www.carycs.org/subscribe-to-newsletter.html)上添加您的信息,就可以收到学校发出的每周快讯。此外,学校的微信群也是获取学校信息的主要渠道。
《中文之星》
《中文之星》是凯瑞中文学校的中文期刊,收录在校学生创造的优秀作品,包括写作、绘画、书法和摄影等等,同时介绍老师、家长和学生们有关中文学习的体会和经验。《中文之星》旨在鼓励学生多学、多说、多听、多写、多练、多用中文。自2018年3月创刊以来,已经完成编辑制作25期。敬请广大师生和家长踊跃阅读,积极参与投稿和创作。

Dear CCS Families:
As the 2020-21 new school year is about to begin, on behalf of the school board, all teachers and volunteer team, I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued concern and support!
School
Cary Chinese School is a non-profit educational institution in the great triangle area that mainly teaches Chinese. Since its establishment in 2001, the school has always been committed to Chinese education, promoting Chinese culture, and enriching the diversity of the community.
Students
This year there are 700 registered students in our school, participating in 30 Chinese as a Heritage Language courses (including Ma Liping and Jinan University Chinese), 11 Chinese as a Second Language courses, 3 AP Chinese courses, and 48 activity courses.
Teachers
Teachers are the cornerstone of Chinese schools. In this year's teaching team, there are 39 Chinese teachers and 35 activity teachers. Some of them are university professors, some are high school students, some are public school teachers, and some are corporate executives. They have built three complete Chinese teaching programs and a variety of activity courses.
Volunteers
The school's management team is a team of about 30 people who are all volunteers. They work together and dedicate their precious time and energy to the daily operation of the school. The success of the school is also inseparable from the support of countless other enthusiastic volunteers. I hope that through the joint efforts of everyone, the platform of Cary Chinese School will continue to bring diversified cultural services to the community.
Donations and Sponsorships
Over the years, the school has received matching donations from several major companies such as SAS and CISCO. Meanwhile, it also received generous support from local merchants. The following are the sponsors for the school in the past year. They are RTP Pediatrics Dentistry, The Vision Studio, iPearl Inc., Crystal Smile, Super Wok, Champion Education, Dryer Music School, and High Range Piano.
Curriculum
For online teaching, the school adjusted the existing curriculum during the summer break. In addition to ensuring that there are sufficient course resources on Saturday mornings, a new math training camp on Sunday afternoons has been launched, and some popular activity courses have been added from Monday to Friday to meet the needs of students and parents.
Calendar
There are 15 weeks in the fall of the 2020-21 school year, 16 weeks in the spring, and 9 weeks in the summer. For a detailed school calendar, please see www.carycs.org/calendar.html.
Classroom Discipline
The school requires students to do the following in class: 1) not be late for class and prepare the books and stationery needed for the class in advance; 2) raise their hands if there is a question; 3) be respectful and do not chat or make sounds that have nothing to do with class; 4) If the classroom discipline is violated, the teacher should point it out in time, and report the serious ones to the school officials and parents.
Considering the particularity of online learning, students also need to do: 1) Choose a quiet room; 2) Use real names; 3) Turn on the camera; 4) Stay muted until the teacher permits.
Online Safety
Whether in person or online, Cary Chinese School requires students to behave in a consistent manner. Any uncivilized behavior such as verbal violence, insulting classmates, and disrupting classroom order is strictly prohibited. If problems are found, teachers need to stop them in time. If it happens again, the teacher must notify the parents of the student and inform the school. The school officials will finally give corresponding treatment and punishment in accordance with the school rules.

Weekly Newsletter and WeChat are the main channels for the school to release important information and communicate with parents. Subscribe here (www.carycs.org/subscribe-to-newsletter.html) to receive the weekly newsletters from the school. In addition, the school’s WeChat group is also the main channel for obtaining school information.
CCS Star
CCS Star is a Chinese journal of Cary Chinese School. It contains works created by students at school, including writing, painting, calligraphy, and photography. It also introduces teachers, parents, and students' experience in learning and teaching Chinese. CCS Star aims to encourage students to learn more, speak more, listen more, write more, practice more, and use Chinese more. Since its inception in March 2018, 25 issues have been produced. Teachers, students, and parents are invited to actively participate in submission and creation.
My friends, I believe our efforts will definitely make a great 2020-21 school year.
