1. Small selective classes, close skill levels among students measured by Math competition or placement test results. 2. Focus on cultivating interests and forming good habits. With great interest and good habits, Math can be mastered by most students. 3. Covers deeper and more topics ranging from elementary Math all the way to high school Math. 4. Intensive program; On-line/off-line learning & In-class/off-class studies (e.g. lectures, assigned practices; recommended readings; games) a. Follow US Math curriculum with extension in depth and breadth. b. Learning material combines the strengths of both western and eastern systems. 5. Although this program is not designed solely for Math competitions, it will help students greatly in middle school/high school Math competitions. 6. For the immediate term, the students best fit for this program are ones with interest in Math and with desires to excel in Math.
Math Camp Elementary:
1. Recommended for rising 4-5th graders with strong interest in Math. 2. Goal: To cultivate interest in math and the habit of thinking, to develop mental arithmetic skills, and to set a strong foundation for future math education. 3. Topics: a. Fundamental algebra b. Fundamental number theory c. Counting 4. Online class via Zoom, Sunday afternoon 2-3:30pm
Math Camp Intermediate:
1. Recommended for rising 6-7th graders. AMC 8 score >= 18 or equivalent is required. 2. Goal: To help develop interest in math, form the habit of being focused and persistent in problem solving, focus on deep understanding of concepts to set a strong foundation for future math education and competition. 3. Topics: a. Algebra (Quadratic equations, polynomials) b. Number theory (prime factors), c. Geometry (congruency, similar triangles, circles) d. Counting 4. Online class via Zoom, Sunday afternoon 2-4pm
Math Camp Advanced:
1. Recommended for rising 8th graders and beyond. Requirement: AMC 10 score >=18 2. Goal: To develop interests in math, focus on problem solving skills and a deep understanding of math subjects and concepts, train kids to articulate ideas to develop communication sills and leadership. 3. Topics: Competition(AMC10/12/AIME/JMO/AMO) level contents 4. Online class via Zoom, Sunday afternoon 2-4pm
