Course description: Java is a simple programming language developed in 1991. Writing, compiling, and debugging a program is easy in Java. Target students are middle and high school students who have minimal exposure to computers and programming. We expect students to spend at least two hours per week on the lab and homework. First, necessary computer operating system knowledge, such as CPU, memory, and I/O, will be introduced. Core programming includes variables, types, operators, method, control flow, array, simple algorithm. During the course, we will also talk about debugging and testing. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) will be introduced at the end of the class. The course will be a combination of lecture and demo.
Lecturer: Mr. Yingjie Zhong has 20+ years of software engineering experience and uses Java as a programming language on a daily basis. He is currently a tech leader in a Global Tech Company.
