​简介

• 英语写作 I 课程将侧重于语法和写作基础知识，旨在通过不同的项目和活动来培养学生的文学和创作技能，例如为自己的餐厅设计菜单、研究濒危动物、写诗等等。通过这些活动，学生将学习不同的写作方法，例如说明性写作、描述性写作和创意写作，并学习如何将这些写作方法应用到自己的生活中！
• 英语写作 II 课程将重点关注不同的文学流派和技巧，如科幻小说、喜剧、戏剧、诗歌等，并通过创意项目、写作作业和协作工作培养基本的阅读和写作技能。在课堂上，我们将阅读几篇不同的写作文章，帮助学生练习和运用他们的技能，并帮助培养他们对阅读和写作的热爱！
• ​英语写作III课程将重点关注不同的文学流派和技巧，以及培养学生的写作和阅读理解技能。在这一年中，学生将阅读五种不同类型的书籍，包括现实小说、历史小说、非小说、诗歌和奇幻小说，并通过写作作业、课堂讨论和创意项目的结合来分析这些书籍。

​McElreath 是北卡罗来纳州立大学基础教育专业的学生。她自 2022 年起一直在 CCS 教授这门课程。

Description 

• English Writing I class will focus on grammar and the fundamentals of writing, and will aim to develop students’ literary and creative skills through different projects and activities, such as designing menus for their own restaurant, researching endangered animals, writing poems, and more. Through these activities, students will learn about different methods of writing, such as expository writing, descriptive writing, and creative writing, and will learn how to apply those methods of writing to their own lives!
• English Writing II class will focus on different literary genres and techniques such as science fiction, comedy, drama, poetry, and more, as well as on developing fundamental reading and writing skills through creative projects, writing assignments, and collaborative work. In class, we will read several different writing pieces to help students practice and apply their skills, and to help grow their love of reading and writing!
• English Writing III class will focus on different literary genres and techniques, as well as on growing students' writing and reading comprehension skills. Over the course of the year, students will read books from five different genres, including Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Fantasy, and analyze these books through a combination of writing assignments, classroom discussions, and creative projects.

Teacher Introduction 
Tessa McElreath is a student at NC State University majoring in Elementary Education. She has been teaching this class at CCS since 2022.
